THE KING WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN
In ancient Jewish tradition and faith the brilliant morning star is accorded a sinister reputation in that it was associated with the archangel who had rebelled against God, even to enthrone Him.

The prophet Isaiah refers to this, drawing a resemblance in his prophesy against the king of Babylon. Some readings of Isaiah 13 and 14 would apply these Scripture parts merely to the history of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. This could have been so, had the king not repented of his pride, as can be read in Daniel 4:34. But Isaiah 14:15
says that the king will be brought down to the innermost regions of the dead.
FROM LIGHT-BEARER TO PRINCE OF DARKNESS
The book Revelation deals with Babylon, with its ultimate fall described explicitly in chapter 18. In fact, the king of Babylon is that angel referred to in Revelation 12. Originally created to shine like the morning star, and to lead all the angels in adoration of God, in that gloriously brilliant light of the throne of the Almighty, his pride turned him into becoming the insidious Satan who, in the guise of that perfidious snake, persuaded mankind to defy God. Indeed he, once meant to be a light-bearer, became the Prince of Darkness. (Lucifer = “light-bearer”, shining one, morning star, Lucifer, of the king of Babylon and Satan, ‘Helel’, describing the king of Babylon.)
BRINGING GRIEF TO GOD
So also did the angels who were in charge of the well-being of early man abuse this privilege through their sensuous desire for the daughters of man. Somehow or other they had sex with these daughters, which led to creating a generation of giants, with a barbaric sense of evil that brought much grief to God. Genesis 6 1-6 tells us
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Thus we learn from the earliest Biblical history that not only did Lucifer, the angel of light, but also a certain number of angels who had access to man, turn to the darkness. In Jude 1:6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
When reading further in the Bible, we find that one third of the angels are enticed by Satan to join him in mutiny against God (Revelation 12:4).
SATAN HAS ONE MISSION
These once radiant creatures who, in the wonderful glory of God’s holy heavens, once could see and adore Him in all His majesty, exchanged their lofty state, on account of earthly matters such as pride and sex, for utter darkness. Now if this had been the sum of their revolt against their Creator, it would, as such, already have been unmistakably bad. But from sheer vengeance and hate both Satan and his followers are bent on the one mission, namely, to drag all mankind together with themselves into the darkness of hell.
TURNING ON GOD’S CREATION
While they have failed in heaven, they are turning in force against the rest of God’s creation. They encourage mankind to commit the most infernal sins like sexual lasciviousness, robbery, murder, violence, as well as devastating God’s wonderful nature. Just as they started their devious conspiracies in heaven, so on earth they do not hesitate even to intrude upon places of adoration with their satanic ideas and burning thirst of the blood of innocent people.
THE BATTLE AGAINST GOD AND HIS ANGELS
We will see that too readily they find mortals willing to join them in partnership in their vengeful battle against God, against His angels and against His children on earth. They muster all their forces to plunge as many people as possible, right through all the ages, into the same darkness they themselves inhabit. They are tireless, because they know that God, our Creator, is a loving, just and patient God, who hates sin passionately. They know well that their revolt against God’s authority will incite the utmost wrath on the final day of reckoning.
THE EARLY MAGICIANS
These former servants of the Almighty, light-bearers, have come to teach man the destructive arts of war, astrology, occults and magic. In early Biblical times we meet the first warrior of repute, Nimrod, conqueror and builder of cities. He founded Babylon, Nineveh, Sodom and Gomorrah. A descendant of Ham, on whom a curse rested on account of his infidelity and mockery of his father Noah, Nimrod’s authority reached as far as Assyria and the Canaanites – those nations against whom God had warned the Israelites on account of their idolatry, also directly descended from Nimrod. The Chaldeans, inhabitants of Babylon, were well known for their religions of astrology and magic as well as their Baal worship.
