HOLY CONSULTING ROOMS

How much less unnecessary spiritual baggage I would have had to drag along if I had been able to find a competent Christian counsellor just after I had been saved by Jesus!  Even before, when I had come to realize that I was in deep trouble and needed help urgently if I had but known a person who could come to the rescue of a deeply fallen sinner! Many years of struggle, falling and standing up again, have however brought me to the point where I can help others.  But – one team can only do so much and not more…  We pray that the Lord will stir the hearts of many more of His children so that a wide network of holy consulting rooms will spring up in this country.

IN AMERICA’S FOOTSTEPS

America is showing us the way:  thousands of converts have already completed courses in Biblical counselling.  Several universities specialize in Christian studies up to the doctor’s degree.  In South Africa, we are busy establishing an association of Biblically trained counsellors as well as a college with government-approved courses to grow a national network of professional counsellors.

PSYCHOLOGISTS DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER

A huge variety of books are available on this topic, but unfortunately, many of them rather incline towards the sensational and more disreputable aspects of this threatening monster with which we are dealing.  Such self-appointed “liberators” tend to do more harm, however, so that they only succeed in turning other Christians against this way of healing mentally disturbed people.  They will rather turn to psychologists or psychiatrists – a very expensive course, with a little positive result (if any!).  This field of study is the “department” of the Holy Spirit. For theologically sound reference books on Biblical counselling, you can visit our resources department on the Xtremefreedom website at www.xf.co.za.

CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING IS THE ONLY WAY

Only Christian Biblical counsel, as previously mentioned, has the solution.  Christians in need of counselling seek help from Christian psychiatrists or psychologists, where they are treated either through applying psychological theories or medicine – oftentimes only aggravating their condition.  Psychology is not reconcilable with the Word of God – the person in mental or spiritual need cannot be healed through psychology.  Man’s innermost is known to God alone and is His domain. Psychology is in most cases a prescribed subject for prospective ministers of religion and pastors, who eventually have to guide their flock.

The field of psychology itself abounds with contradictions – many psychologists themselves encounter serious problems, needing help from elsewhere.  God gave us all in His Word:  healing of man’s problems resulting from sin. 2Peter 1:3-4 says

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

JUNG AND HIS DREAMS

It is totally unacceptable that we Christians, who profess and honour Jesus Christ as Lord and Master of the universe, should take recourse to a man-made system consisting of a number of contradictory theories, dished up by “scholars” lacking the tiniest notion of God and the power of His Word!  Freud, Jung, and others, all of them also merely sinners, but taking no delight in man’s only hope of healing, namely Jesus Christ.  It is my opinion actually, that they were inspired by Satan himself to proclaim falsities through which the church could be misled.  I take the liberty to quote from The Aquarian guide to the New Age (1990) in support of my statement:

“It is a curious fact that the fundamental infrastructure of Jungian psychology which, with the work of Freud and Adler, represents the underpinning of almost all our ideas about the human mind, was revealed to Jung in a dream. On this dream, Jung founded what was to become the second most influential model of the human mind (after Freud’s classical Ego, Id, Superego, and conscious and subconscious subdivisions), and a model still extremely popular with New Age intellectuals and mystics.

FALSE DOCTRINES

The “science” of psychology is not based on human, material facts capable of proof, but on a dream on which the ideas of both the recipient and others were built.  But it didn’t end there.  Who or what was the inspiration for Jung’s dreams??  I quote:

“He experienced visitations from a discarnate entity he called Philemon which was capable of walking and talking with him in his garden. He threw away much of Freud’s whole basic model of the mind and set out on a personal odyssey which took him into the realms of alchemy, mythology, folklore, Gnosticism, Oriental esotericism and even as far afield as astrology and the I Ching. His impact on New Age thinking has been enormous.”

Jung’s name appears frequently in the books I used in my research of the mysteries of magic, astral projections, astrology, Eastern faith and black magic.  Psychology was built on these heresies; therefore my theory, my belief, is that these false doctrines prescribed in the syllabi of theological students are spawned by demons from hell.

JESUS – THE ONLY DOCTRINE

Man’s problems all originate from his own sins and the selfishness of his flesh.  There is but one solution, namely a new being raised through faith in Jesus’ blood sacrifice on the cross, wrapped up by the working of the Holy Spirit.  Any doctrine denying this is false. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 says:

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”

HE IS STILL BUSY

It is heartrending to see people adhering to this false hope, paying large sums of money only to hear a lot of meaningless words.  Eventually, they flounder from one therapist to the other – to no avail.  They only receive deliverance from their fear, stress and anxieties when Jesus sets them free. Three hundred and sixty-six times – one for each day of the year; leap year included! – the Lord comforts us with these words in the Bible.  Fear not!…  Jesus Christ is still busy with His work of salvation. In John 8:36

“If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
